Here are some of my Instagram photo prompts from my previous trips that may help you make your trip an enjoyable one!
#1 The unexpected – Sometimes you’re caught with the unexpected event but you’re glad you braved through it with a big smile. I don’t take propeller plane very often (only my 3rd time) when I travel, so this photo will be a good memory. J
#2 Look out the window – Whether you’re traveling by car, train, bus or plane, you’ll be amazed with the view outside the window.
#3 Be an early riser – You need to wake up early (I mean really really early like 3am!) to experience breath-taking view of the city or historical site. Be early to take beautiful photos when the sun rises or sets.
#4 Make the trip – Be sure to visit and photograph the country’s famous landmarks and historical sites. There’s always an amazing story behind each of this place. I’ve dreamed of visiting this 9th century temple, Borobudur and I was glad I made the trip!
#5 Roam the street – Venture into the city/town and take photos of what you see on the street. I love to capture what the locals do for a living.
#6 Local delight – Eat what the locals eat. Be adventurous and try the local cuisines. They might look weird at times but they can be absolutely delicious! Make sure you take lots of photos of what you tried and recommend them to your family and friends!
#7 Favorite moment - Photograph those moments you enjoyed most during your travel. Here I was basking in the sun, soaking in all the goodness of my stay in one of my favorite resorts where I stayed.
Do play along with these photo prompts, we'd love to see your images! Share them in the gallery, link them in your comments or tag us in Instagram! -Leena Loh

We're thrilled to have Allison Waken here today sharing a week of photo prompts. Allison is one of our contributing photographers for the 1000 Words : Capture More class and we're excited to share some of her beautiful photos here on the blog! If you'd like to share your photos using these prompts on twitter or instagram, we'd love if you'd use the hashtag #SCphotoprompts so we can see what you do!!
Hi everyone! Allison here today to share a week's worth of photo prompts with you. For me, there are times when I can't put my camera down. I'm just in the "groove" and am inspired by others. Other times, I'm not so inspired. I love photo prompts because they work for either situation. Whether you're using a Point and Shoot camera, a phone, or a DSLR photo prompts can point you a certain direction but it's your imagination, your life, that is told through the photo.
#2 Get Down - one of my favorite perspectives of children is down low, more at their level. I think it tells such a different story than we normally see standing above them.
#3 White Space - I love it on a scrapbook page and I love it in photos. Try to consciously compose a photo to include lots of white space.

Good Afternoon SC'ers! It's no secret that I love instagram! I think it's a perfect and fun way to document your life around you and to be inspired by others. I have a few prompts for you to help you get over a slump if you are participating in project life or project 360. Have fun!
before|after
Take a photo of an item or project where it reflects before and after, i.e. breakfast prep-presentation of breakfast; pre-haircut-haircut, dirty car-clean car
LOOKING DOWN
Photograph what's below you, what's in your hands, holding a hand or where you stand in a store. I love how photos look from above.
GET CLOSE
Make the subject of your picture fill up the frame and remember to get close.
COLLECTION
I love how a collection of similar items look pretty together. It can be a collection of your favorite scrapbook supplies, colors, shoes or perfumes. The possibilities are endless, sometimes we collect things without being aware of it!
5.TEXTURE
Photograph texture, it can be an outfit you are wearing, the patterns in your favorite clothing item or a child's stuffed toy. Texture can evoke memories and happy thoughts from experiences because it causes you to touch an item that reminds you of a person or time in your life.
FAVORITE
Capture your favorite routine or moment in your day. I love to get my Starbucks fix a few days during the work week.
CURRENT VIEW
Snap a picture of your current view, is it a favorite view? I love this prompt because it is an awesome way to document the seasons and your environment around you.
BONUS PROMPT- A TASK
Take a photo of a daily or weekly task, it can be one that you love or hate but is a necessary part of your life.
Have a great week!
