Hey everyone! It's Lisa Truesdell, here with a week from my Project Life album. I am over the moon excited about the debut of Studio Calico's new Project Life kit next month - but in the meantime, I'm loving using the current kits + printables to put together a perfectly coordinated week.

The printable labels are a favorite of mine, for Project Life or scrapbook pages. I use them with my Silhouette as print and cuts and find myself grabbing them to finish almost every project I do!

This Halloween photo was the perfect chance to go BIG! I printed it at 6inx8in and then cut it to fit in the pockets. And this month's foldover card + pocket cuts were perfect for holding a journaling tag - I just resized them to 3x8in, and then added an initial to the cut out window.

Sunday Sketch

This week's sketch comes from Lisa Truesdell's "you" layout in her SOCK HOP gallery - we loved her focus on tiny details that draw you into the story and were eager to see how one of our members interpreted the sketch!

 

This week we asked member Mariaje98 to share her take on the sketch...and fell in love with her take on it!

When I saw the sketch of Lisa's, I identified a lot with it, as my style is this, the layers!!! I've used it horizontally, respecting the zones of the details and leaving lines up and down and I edited the picture to mimic the same tone of the paper. Simply a beautiful sketch.

We love that Maria adapted the sketch for a 12x12 page to accomodate 2 photos. Her flair for using little details added to the impact of this page in a big way...AWESOME work, Maria!! weekly challenge

Hey everyone! Happy Monday! I don't know what the weather's like where you are, but here in the midwest, temps are dropping, leaves are changing and autumn is definitely here. And while I'm totally over 100+ degree temps, I wanted to take a minute to celebrate summer before I totally move on to autumn.

My challenge to you this week is to scrap a summer photo - or a winter one, for our friends in the Southern Hemisphere! Record a specific memory, do a recap, or just reflect on your favorite details of the season. I can't wait to see what you come up with!

Good morning, SC friends! US gals, I hope you're enjoying the long weekend - and everyone else, happy Monday!

I'm finding myself more and more drawn to scrapping NOW photos. There's something about getting the story onto a page while it's still fresh in your mind. I shot this photo on a Wednesday night, blogged it on a Thursday, and had it all on a page by Friday.

By now, you may have heard a little rumor. A little rumor that there are two NEW project life stamps coming to the shop for the Summer of '69 reveal. And yes, they're true. At noon EST on July 27th, there will be two new stamp sets in the shop.

While we can't show you the whole sets quite yet, I put a few of the stamps to work on a project life week, and wanted to share it with you today. Stamps are one of my favorite supplies to reach for when I'm working on a week, and the Studio Calico sets are my *very* favorites.

After I printed my photos, I pulled together a small group of supplies and my favorite ink colors and then set to work. I find that limiting my supplies really speeds up the process, and with busy summer weeks, I need all the speeding up I can get!

I used the new stamps on eight different cards...  can you spot them all? Be sure to check the shop on the 27th at noon EST to see the sets!

We're having a Heyday! We're so excited about Heyday coming to the Studio Calico shop that we decided it needed it's own party. Weekly Challenge

Hey everyone! It's Lisa Truesdell, and I'm here to give you this week's challenge.  One of my favorite things about the Classic Calico collection is how subtle the patterns are. I love to reach for these neutral, tone on tone papers as the perfect background for my pages.  This week, I want you to challenge you to use patterned paper as the base for your next page. Whether you go with a small and understated pattern like I've used, or reach for something fun and bold, your page will have a different look than if you'd started with cardstock.


To start this page, I placed the Circle Grid mask near the middle of the paper, the lightly misted over it with Mister Huey's Water Cooler and Shine. I placed my photos above and below a strip of Fabrips, then added washi tape and patterned paper to accent. I typed my journaling on the background of the page, then added some embellishments and stamping. I love that the patterned paper background keeps my fairly simple design from looking too sparse.
