Greetings from sunny California!! The Studio Calico team has been keeping busy at CHA-W, both in and out of the booth.

We've had an amazing response to our new releases, and we're loving meeting everyone coming into the booth!! You can see more of our booth on our facebook page.

We've also been scouring the show for all of the best new releases, and working to put them together into kits. We took over Christine's bed with catalogs and samples this morning to start planning what you'll be getting - we know you'll love it!

We're doing out best to post updates to twitter throughout the day - we hope you'll follow us and see what we're up to!

SC on Pinterest

Hey, Studio Calico fans! Did you know that SC is on Pinterest? We're pinning all of the inspiring projects that you see right here on the blog, sharing the images that inspire our kits, and we have boards where our design team shares inspiration pieces and storage & organization ideas. We also have one of my most favorite boards of all - a member inspiration board, with pieces pinned by YOU! Here are a few awesome pins from that board.

This chevron design is amazing! It would be fun to make this pattern with pieces of patterned paper.


The effect of the letter carved from a book is too cool - can you think of a way to recreate the look for a title?


There is so much to be inspired by here - the colors, the mix of patterns, and the shapes.


This grouping of letterpress letters has a great color scheme. It also makes me want to do a misted background of stencil style letters.

So, you want to know how to have YOUR pin on the member inspiration board? Here's the process : Pin the piece to YOUR account, and in the description, tag @studio calico (this lets us see it - you have to be following us for it to work), leave your username (so we can find you) and let us know what about the piece inspires you. We have to manually repin to our board, so don't worry if you don't see it immediately. I'll be adding pins a few times a day. You can check to see if you tagged us properly by checking here - and pin that mentions @studio calico will show on that page.

I've got a little challenge for you - I want you to give it a try and submit a piece for our member inspiration board! All new pins will be entered into a drawing for a $5 gift certificate to the Studio Calico shop. We'll draw a winner on September 14. Happy pinning!

It's Kelly with a fun behind the scenes peek at the process of one of the SC exclusive patterned papers from the May kit.  Reveal went up last night and this paper, the B side of Cooped Up, is in the Lawn Party Main kit.

It was inspired by doilies that Stephanie had posted and so I asked her to send me a picture of one and this is how it started...
Just a little design magic done in Illustrator and we've got a patterned paper.

Be sure to snag some SC patterned paper this month... I can't wait to see you use it!

Good afternoon! It's Kelly checking in from SC Headquarters in Bowling Green and looking out the window at the beautiful Foster Farm.  It's been fun for me to get a peek at even more Behind the Scenes stuff today and I wanted to share one of my favorite finds with you.

You all know that you get pretty lables on your bags each month that have been designed by Stephen.  But seeing the stack of labels, I realized that unless you're buying every single add-on and more each month, you miss out on seeing a few.  Here's one that only a few of you have gotten a peek at...

And one of my favorites I'd never seen before...

Who else looks forward to seeing the new label designs each month? I know I do.  I guess this month you'll just have to place a big big big order to get to see them all!

The SC booth made it's debut earlier this month at CKC Louisville!  We met a lot of new friends, learned a lot, and had a lot of fun.
