I can remember the first Mother's Day after we had Addison - I knew exactly what I wanted as a special gift from my family. It was May of 2007, and I had just discovered the beautiful work of Lisa Leonard. So here I was with my two beautiful children (as well as a new found love of photography), and Lisa had the perfect piece in her store for me. As I searched her site today I see she has added several new pieces, but I wanted to share a couple that I have & adore!
I love this necklace because it has that adorable camera on it and reminds me of those closest to me. I have treasured it since the moment I received it and still smile every time I put it on. There is something about personalized jewelry that holds a special place in your heart, it's not just decorative or a fashion statement it’s a memory.
When I received my first piece of art work from Lisa, I discovered their true quality. She soon became my "go to" for gifts, especially those I cherished most! For Christmas my husband and I got our Mothers these beautiful family tree necklaces, they wear them all the time! I often will tease that they put them on just before we come over, but they both tell us how much they love them all the time!
As our friends and family grow all around us sometimes it can be difficult to come up with the perfect gift, but one of my favorites to give is the adorable baby spoon from Lisa's store. There is something about it that will bring a tear to any new mom's eye, and they will cherish it forever.
So as you can see I am a HUGE fan of Lisa Leonard designs! To my surprise we were lucky enough to receive one of her beautiful necklaces when we were at Camp Calico with Studio Calico. They passed these out on the last night during the awards ceremony. It was just perfection, because as I said Lisa's work isn't just jewelry, it's a memory. I am so thankful to have this necklace to remind me of the amazing trip I rook across the country to laugh, cry and create with some of my favorite new friends! The thing about Lisa's work is that you can identify it anywhere - while many may try to replicate her look, there is something about her pieces that stand apart from others.
As soon as I got home I went back to Lisa's store to check out what new things she has been creating. Oh my! How does she always know EXACTLY what I "need"?
I didn't mention it earlier, but do you want to know what my Camp Calico award was for? "Most anchors worn" lol !! It was perfect!
So don't you think I pretty much NEED this anchor necklace? Yah, I thought so too! :)
I also love all the new decor items she has in the store, here are a couple I have my eye on...
For reals? So cute! The pennant banner is TOTALLY customizable, just think of the possibilities!
Also, did you know that Lisa is now making stamps? Yay, me either, why didn't anyone tell us?
How cute are those little Love Bird Stamps?
One more place I like to stop for inspiration is Lisa's blog, she has an amazing personal story and shares that along with her every day moments and DIY projects.
So browse on over to Lisa Leonard's store, I am sure you will find something you fall in love with. Make sure to sign up for her newsletter as well - you can get 15% off your order!
Have a fantastic day! - Shanna Noel
I love Lisa's items. She has some completely different ones for sale at Dayspring, too.

Love Lisa's work. Have tried to order several times, but always baulk at the postage of $38.95 to Australia for one necklace. Such a shame!
