This week we are once again offering you TWO sketches...one for cards and one for layouts!! The card sketch is from Robyn Werlich's Neverland gallery:
And the layout sketch is from Lisa Truesdell's Neverland Gallery:
We invited member Patricia (patricia) to choose one of these to
use as a starting point this week, and were thrilled with what she came up with!! Check out the fun details on her layout...
American Crafts cardstock, Yes, Please pattern paper, POW, rubons, Thickers, and clothespin, Lucky Charm roller stamp, Prima chalk, Neverland Printable #1, Neverland Project Life Elements cut file, large light blue tag, vellum, SC wood veneer shapes, SC gems, SC Mr. Hueys, SC Here & There Chevron Mask, modeling paste, gelatos, The Twinery, Sophia font, Brother Typewriter
Here's what Patricia had to say about the sketches:
I love both using more than one photo on a layout and Lisa’s style. I was inspired right away to use these two photos of my daughter meeting the fairies at Disney World, and then to add texture with the Studio Calico chevron mask using mist, gelatos, and modeling paste. So I first misted a piece of cardstock with the mask, trimmed it to be a matte behind the main photo. Next, I mixed two different colors of gelatos with water to brush across the background and over some of the wood veneers, then added modeling paste to the gelatos and masked across the background. The fairies were dressed for winter, so using shades of blue, aqua, and green added an icy, cool look. To add to that look, using the Silhouette and vellum, I did a print and cut with the Neverland printables. The colors and the vellum gave the perfect soft touch to the theme. To add some shimmer to the layout, I misted a few of the veneers with Silver mist, and used the POW to cut the Neverland cut file and title. Stapling the cut title to the wood veneers gave it more dimension. And a layout about fairies would not be complete without some Studio Calico gems. This sketch inspired me so much. I could make several different interpretations from it. Thank you so much Studio Calico for having me play along.
We always love seeing Patricia mix things up...so many fun elements here that all work together for this darling page about her girl. The layering and subtle colors all add up to a project that makes us smile!
Thanks for joining us this week, Patricia!! You can see more inspiration from Patricia in her SC Gallery and on her blog. She is also active on Twitter: @NiHaoPatriciaHow will YOU use this sketch? Whether it's a layout, a card or something else, link us up to your project by March 25th for a chance to win a $5 gift card to the Studio Calico shop. (Please remember, your project must be loaded into our gallery to qualify...and your comment has to link back to it in the SC Gallery)
LOVE what you did with the sketch, Patricia!
