his week we are offering you TWO sketches...one for cards and one for layouts!! The card sketch is from Robyn Werlich's Block Party gallery:
And the layout sketch is from Ania Maria's Block Party gallery:
We invited member Kasia (worQshop) to choose one of these to
use as a starting point this week, and she chose the layout sketch...take a look at the layout she designed!
(paper:
Crate Paper, Studio Calico, My Mind's Eye; tape: dekoracyjna taśma,
queen&co; flair button, polaroid frame and circle tag: Ormolu;
stamps: Studio Calico roller date stamp; alphabet: Basic Grey, stars:
Studio Calico mistables, other: white thread, machine stitching, 3d foam
tape, black pit pen Faber Castell, coloring pencil)
I adore the original layout created by Anna-Maria and I was really drawn
by the color scheme she picked so I decided to try to incorporate it to
my layout and I think it worked very well with a picture from snowy day
in Poland. To build base for my page I used a piece of paper from
Studio Calico's 6x6 pad to cut a square frame and than
filled it with more elements from the sketch. I layered some small
scraps of pp under the photograph as well as some vellum thread and
washi tape pieces. Than I used one of Ormolu's Bungalow Snapshot's to
create polaroid frame for a photograph. In place of second picture on
Anna-Maria's layout I used a journaling tag sticked on 3d foam tape for
some extra dimension. I like adding little texture to my base and to
achieve it this time I followed the lines of chevron with my sewing
machine. I filled the empty space with some stamped images and with
Studio Calico's mistable stars which I also used as a stencil to draw
stars directly on my page.
We love the bold addition of the red to the neutral white background, as well as the sewn vellum. Thank you for sharing your creativity with us, Kasia!! Please check out Kasia's gallery and blog for more inspiration!
What a versatile sketch ... I was able to use scraps of 10 different designer papers:

I used the card sketch to jumpstart a 12 x 12 layout. I wound up with less squares than the sketch had circles...but hey...I got the pictures scrapped! Thanks for the inspiration!
