The Studio Calico kit family has grown this year with the introduction of our Card and Project Life kits - and now it's time for our Creative Team to grow! Starting with the reveal of January's kits, your inspiration, delivered will come in three separate galleries - one for each of our kits. With that change, we'll be adding 27 designers to our current team. We're thrilled to get to introduce them to you today!
Ali Edwards (Project Life) - Ali Edwards's passion resides in that very special place where the stories and images of life intersect. Her work includes blogging, teaching, writing, photography, and memory keeping product design. Learn more at http://www.aliedwards.com.
Allison Waken (Project Life) - I am SO incredibly honored to be sharing my life with my Studio Calico
family on the Project Life team. I am a wife and mom of 2 boys in the
desert of Phoenix, AZ. I love scrapbooking in general because of the
memories being documented and the creativity I get to exhibit. I love
Project Life because it captures my favorite part of life - the
everyday. I have a funky, layered, graphic style all my own that changes
over time just as me and my family does. I love photography whether
with my DSLR, Instax or iPhone and I try to capture the fleeting moments
each day that seem to fly by. Documenting these moments and displaying
them in Project Life or a scrapbook album is a stress relief and such a
cherished hobby of mine!
Amanda Caves (Project Life) - I am a wife of 12 years, and a mother to two hilarious little boys: Bowen is six and Wilder is four. They are my heart. I started Project Life in January of 2012 after reading about how simple it is. It has changed my memory keeping in so many ways. My style is photo-centric (both black and white and color) with bold paper colors and patterns.
Amber Kemp-Gerstel (Card) - My name is Amber Kemp-Gerstel and Miami, Florida is home (though I’ll always have a soft spot for my SF Bay Area stomping grounds!). By day, I am a child psycholgist, but once the workday is done, you can find me crafting like a madwoman. I began blogging in January 2011 in order to share my handmade card creations. Since that time, Damask Love has grown into a place for all things handmade with paper. I especially love to create handmade packaging and gifts. My style is clean and simple, though I love rustic motifs! Outside of the craftoom, some of my loves include colorful shoes, egg salad on pumpernickel and late night reruns of 1980’s sitcoms (Golden Girls, anyone?) I am thrilled to be a part of the Studio Calico family and join forces with a group of crazy talented ladies.
Ania Maria Wolniak (Scrapbook) - Even a few years ago scrapbooking was only a part of my artistic activity, this trivial section, which I practiced just because I wanted to archive some moments of my life. Quickly it developed in one of my passions, and how it came out not long ago - a way of life. One thing that haven't changes is that I'm still doing it for pleasure. I studied in the Academy of Fine Arts in Lodz, out of choice I am a mother to an almost 6-year-old son Jaś, a wife to a wonderful and terribly handsome man, and a mistress of a cozy though tiny, flat on the 7th floor of a skyscraper. Currently I cooperate with some scrapbooking companies and now I have the honour of being a member of Studio Calico - it's like my dreams come true!!! Besides scrapbooking I also design papers, write articles, I am a teacher and travel all over the Europe with scrapbooking worshops and I really love this job!
Ashley Cannon Newell (Card) - I'm just a girl who loves fashion, instagramming, and of course paper
crafting. Cards and mini albums are my favorite projects to make. I also
enjoy watching my favorite shows (Modern Family, Scandal, and Homeland)
with my husband, McArthur. I'm so thrilled to be a part of the SC
family!
Catherine Davis (Scrapbook, Project Life) - I can't tell you how happy I am to be joining the Studio Calico family and to be on not one, but two teams. Talk about an awesome way to kick off 2013! I'm a married mom of toddler twins and blog over at Design
Editor. I've been a professional graphic designer for many moons and my
love for design and photos made scrapbooking a natural fit for me. My
technical style is hybrid, love me some Photoshop and all things
paper. I'm also a big fan of clean and simple design, typography, modern
patterns and my stapler.
Celeste Vermeend (Scrapbook) - Hi!
I am Celeste. I hail from the land of Oz with my husband and five
children. When I am not running around after, or cuddling them I am
quite often found in my little nook playing with paper and flitting
around scrapbooking sites on the web. I like a clean layout with lots of
little details, (but not a clean desk!). My photos are always the focus
of my pages and I hope that my scrapbooking style reflects that. I like
white space and am quite fond of using printed phrases or words...I
look forward to working on the Studio Calico design team and creating
with their fabulous kits!
Dana Fleckenstein (Card) - Dana lives in the central western part of Germany and works as an
assistant in the health care industry. She also studies to earn a degree
in linguistics and business along the way. Dana fell in love with paper
crafting in 2009. Originally with the intention to scrapbook, she soon
found her passion in making cards and mini albums. Her style is mostly
clean and simple with a pop of color. Besides paper crafting, she enjoys
good company, photography and discovering new places. Dana is thrilled
to join the SC family!
Danielle Flanders (Card) - Card
making is one of my favorite hobbies right now! I love mixing and
matching pretty products and then being able to send the finished
product out to bring joy to someone's day! There is never enough happy
mail in one's mailbox these days! I've been scrapbooking for about 13
years, ever since my first daughter was born, to make a baby book for
her. About 5 years ago, I began creating for manufacturers and since
then have designed for many different companies, magazines and
publications. I feel very blessed to be able to do one of the things I
love most in the world, create. I'm so excited to be a part of Studio
Calico's card team.
Deb Duty (Project Life) - I'm Deb Duty and I live in Louisiana with my husband, two boys and one
dog. I will soon be starting my fourth year of documenting our memories
with Project Life, and I just finished my year with Becky Higgins'
Project Life Creative Team. I love this fun way of scrapbooking! Knowing
that our everyday moments are documented frees me to choose whichever
random photos I like when I scrapbook regular layouts. I'm very excited
about using the Studio Calico Project Life kits this year!
Gayatri Murali (Card) - My name is Gayatri Murali. I am from Australia. I live with my husband, two soon to be teens (a son and daughter) and Cocker Spaniel puppy Charlie. I am a therapist by profession working with Autistic children. I am a vegetarian and a coffee lover. I have been papercrafting for more than 6 years. I started off as a scrapbooker but soon became a cardmaker. My style is clean, simple, bold and bright. I find the creative process exciting and therapeutic, and I love to use the latest trends on my cards! New things excite me - digital stamps and papers, pattern papers, trends and even lately electronic die cutting. I am always on the lookout for new ideas, tools, and software.
Gillian Nelson (Scrapbook) - I've been scrapping as we now know it for about 14 years, and still
adore all things paper and photos and text. I'd probably call my style
"eclectically simple", and I gravitate towards bright, happy colors. I
frequently focus on journaling with my pages, as I'm a big fan of
storytelling. I also love to laugh, and I'll often incorporate my
family's humor into my layouts. I'm so excited to be joining the Studio
Calico team!
Jennifer Picard
(Card) - I love paper and ink! Stamps and beautiful patterned papers
make me smile. I have been paper crafting for a little over five years
and it was love at first sight, as soon as I picked up my first stamp I
was hooked. I am a mom to 3 very active children who I continually chase
around with a camera in hand, so much so they have lovingly nicknamed
me the mamarazzi!
Joy Taylor (Card) - Hi my name is Joy and I live in a small town in New South Wales, Australia with my partner Darryl... we live in a cottage house, with rose arbor and a brick path edge with lavender either side, I adore to garden in my spare time, which these days there is not a lot of, as my crafting takes up most of that, I cannot say that I mind though :) I have been stamping and crafting for almost 19 years, I love this industry and have meet the most amazing people, been on some amazing teams and made friendships that I know will stand the test of time...I have my very own craft room that I love to come and go as I please and a handy man that has custom built all of my furniture.. I am so thrilled and honoured to be apart of the 2013 team for Studio Calico and cannot tell you how excited I am to be crafting amongst some of the most talented ladies in the industry..
Julie Campbell (Card) - I'm a 30-something mom to two energetic boys, married to one pretty awesome guy. Being creative energizes my spirit & I love the instant gratification that card making brings. I’ve been a big fan of the Studio Calico kits for a long time & joining the design team is a dream come true.
Laura Kurz (Project Life) - Laura Kurz is a memory keeper, a scrapbooker, a picture-taker. She is a reader and writer. She holds a bachelor’s degree in journalism from Lehigh University, a master’s degree in writing from The Johns Hopkins University and lives on the Eastern Shore of Maryland with her husband, Ken, and children, Charlie and Clara. She has been married to Ken for seven homes, nine cars, eight jobs, seven bridesmaid dresses, and one dog (12 years). Laura has been scrapbooking since the fourth grade when her supplies consisted of a glue stick and bad scissors. Perhaps that is why she has stuck to her simple scrapbooking roots. She was named to the Creating Keepsakes Hall of Fame, is a former Garden Girl for Two Peas in a Bucket, has been published in Creating Keepsakes and Simple Scrapbooks, and has worked with manufacturers including American Crafts, Fontwerks, Basic Grey, and Elle's Studio.
Leena Loh
(Project Life) - Hi there! I'm Leena Loh from Singapore. I'm wife to my
best friend, Rainer and we've been married for 12 years. We have a
beautiful boy Ethan who is now 8. I've been scrapping since 2007 but
decided to take a break from traditional scrapbooking, started Project
Life this year and I absolutely love how Project Life change my
perspective of documenting my everyday moment ! Other than scrapbooking,
I love to travel and I'm also an avid vintage and polaroid camera
collector. I'm so thankful to Studio Calico for this wonderful
opportunity to be part of the amazing Project Life Creative Team!
Lisa Spangler (Card) - Lisa lives in Austin, TX with her husband and best friend, Jason. She
loves all things paper, especially washi tape -- she has quite a
collection, some of which she brought back from Japan! Most of all, she
believes that email and facetime are great, but nothing beats a handmade
card.
Lucy Abrams (Card) - I'm Lucy, I'm from the UK and I am completely thrilled to be a part of
the new Studio Calico Creative Team. I first started making cards four
years ago, and am now officially an addict! I have a clean and simple
style that usually features kraft cardstock, stitching and stamping and I
just love patterned paper. I also design for Hero Arts and am a regular
contributor to Paper Crafts and CARDS magazines. I can't wait to get to
know you all.
MaryAnn Perry (Project Life) - To me life is about capturing & celebrating ordinary daily life with photos and words that often pass by in an instant. I want to be able to record those moments without sacrificing hours upon hours of that precious time away from my girls and husband. Project Life has allowed me to do that... it helps me keep things simple or add a little extra when I want and still feel creative. Most importantly, I want to cherish everyday as it happens and simply enjoy being in the moment.
Natalia Bun (Project Life) - Photography. Papers. Journalling. Simply documenting everyday life while adding a little bit of flair to it. That's what makes me fall in love with scrapbooking and project life. There's nothing more delightful snd comforting than spending a lazy Sunday afternoon with pretty papers and a cup of tea, while your favourite music is playing in the background.
Nicole Harper (Project Life) - Nicole has been playing with paper since elementary school, when shopping for new supplies quickened her heart a beat. She spends her crafty time creating layouts and mini albums, but loves hunting for vintage finds whenever she can. She lives in Northeast Ohio with her husband, Mike, and their daughter, Allison … and is a proud soccer mama, medical professional and trusted friend. She wears her heart on her sleeve with her journaling and loves to share the everyday moments that mean the most.
Nicole Reaves (Project Life) - Nicole Reaves is a Michigan native, wife to Mark and mother to two young
children, Morgan and Parker. She has loved papercrafting all her life
and began scrapbooking in 2006 as a way to record her travel adventures
with her husband. Nicole now considers Project Life to be her preferred
method of documenting the stories of her family's life. In 2013, Nicole
will begin her second year of Project Life and she is thrilled to be a
part of the Studio Calico team.
Shanna Noel (Scrapbook, Project Life) - Hiya! My name is Shanna, and I am over the moon to be on this team,
surrounded by such talent. I personally love using project life as a
way to document the every day, and using 8x8 layouts as a form of
artistic expression. I love that using these two mediums allows me to
use both in a way that I cherish when I look back on them.
Stephanie Washburn (Card) - My name is Stephanie Washburn and I'm SO excited to be a part of the Studio Calico Card Kit Team! I am a clean and simple designer and love to mix stamps and products to see what I can come up with. I love meeting fellow crafters through my blog and forums and have made so many great friends! I am truly honored (and SO excited!) to join the Studio Calico team! You can find more about be on my blog- Sweet Steph Card Creations!
Suzy Plantamura (Project Life) - I have been scrapbooking and paper crafting for most of my life in one way or another! I recently developed a love for doodling and coloring inspirational quotes. I incorporate my doodles into my Project Life so I am able to mix my two favorite crafts together. After years of doing traditional scrapbooking and working in the industry for various manufacturers and Creating Keepsakes, I discovered Project Life. It has become my favorite way of documenting my families memories and I’m super excited to share my pages with you as part of the studio Calico PL design team.
