Hey everyone! This week, my challenge for you involves text, lots and lots
of text. I love that letters and words can also be a design element so
this week I double-dog dare you to use text as a background. It can be
by way of alphabet stamps, text based patterned paper, letter stickers,
die-cut letters, handwriting, or you can create your own text mask like I
did here in my "Passion Pit"
layout from the Central High designer gallery.
(supplies: Studio Calico Central High Main Kit and Style Guide Add On Kit. patterned paper-
Studio Calico horizontal thick stripes, American Crafts Encinitas; Mister Hueys- Pinstripe, cardstock- American Crafts white; die cuts- Studio Calico Exclusive Printables;
mistable arrows- Studio Calico exclusive; star brad- Creative
Imaginations; thought bubbles- Hey Jen Renee; other- embroidery floss, Silhouette Cameo)
I created the Passion Pit
text mask using my Silhouette die cut machine and then tilted it on an
angle and misted the letters onto my background cardstock using Mister
Hueys in Pinstripe. I didn't want the text to be too bold because I
wanted to journal over it and keep the text more as a background
element.
I'm
so excited to see what you guys come up with so be sure to link us up
to your finished work in the comments section below. Thanks so much for
playing along! Post your projects by September 17th for a chance to win a $5 gift
card to the Studio Calico shop.
I love this idea and am making an Olympics themed mini album so will try to incorporate this to make some backgrounds I think. Love this inspirational piece you made.
