sunday sketch

This week's sketch comes from Maggie Holmes' "Unforgettable" layout in her Summer of '69 gallery. At the base of Maggie's design is an ultra-versatile grid of 4 squares. She opted to fill only one with photos, but this design would easily support more photos.

We loved the clean lines in Pamela Lee's (pamlee81) gallery, and could wait to see her take on the sketch!

I loved Maggie's sketch! There were a couple of things that stood out to me right away and I knew I wanted to use them for my layout: the square grid shape, layers, and a cluster of embellishments.  Most of my pages tend to be 8 1/2 x 11 (they fit so nicely into my Project Life album for a little varitey!), and the grid in Maggie's sketch was easy to adapt to this format.

I love how Pamela stretched a 4x6 photo across two of her squares, and the confetti pocket is a perfect accent for this sweet page.
