sunday sketch

This week's sketch comes from Laura Kurz's gallery for our July Kit, ELMWOOD PARK - it's based on her layout entitled today.

We asked Studio Calico Member Stephanie Baxter to take on this week's sketch for us :

(Supplies - Kits : Elmwood Park, Twisty Slide, Monkey Bars ; Stickers, brads : October Afternoon ; alphabet : Heyday Bliss Thickers - pink ; Washi Tape : American Crafts ; Ink : Prima Tin Can)

From Steph - "I was so excited to work on a sketch based on Laura's 'Today' layout...it was one of my favourites from the July gallery! I wanted to keep the idea of three elements going horizontally across an 8.5x11 page, so I backed the three tags with a piece of patterned paper to use as the foundation of my layout. Typing my journaling on to one of the tags, I kept the idea of having it displayed on one of the three elements, but swapped it over to the other side of the page. The tag wasn't big enough to hold the whole of my title, so I added the other half underneath my photo. To finish off, I added a few elements to layer things up a bit and some embellishments from the kit to give a bit of dimension."
