Hi SC friends, Kelly here to challenge you with something fun this week! Lately, I've been feeling in a rut scrapbooking wise. I've been busy in all areas of my life, which hasn't helped, but I wanted to snap myself out of it so I challenged myself. I'm normally a very linear and clean scrapper... I'm drawn to clean lines and organized designs. I challenged myself to step outside of my box with this layout... be a little messy, not have everything touching and tilt things a bit, plus I scrapped a photo of myself which I hardly ever do! I'm really happy with the outcome and it's really inspired me to try new techniques and get back in my scrap room.
Supplies: Mister Huey's Piglet, Countryside Tags, Blue Topographical Die Cut Paper, Barnswallow Paper, Wildflower Paper, Countyline Paper, Pink Notions, Pink Houndstooth FabRips
Today's challenge is for you to do the same. Step outside of your box! If you're normally a clean lined scrapper, mess it up a little. Or if you're a more artsy scrapper, try making a simple page. Do you normally scrap girly pages, try using blues and greens for a more masculine look. I find trying new and different things really sparks my creativity. I hope it does the same for you! Don't forget to upload your layouts to the SC member gallery and link us to it here by Monday, March 21. We'll pick a winner for a $5 gift certificate to the SC shop! I can't wait to see what you come up with!
Kelly, you can't be that uncomfortable with stepping outside your boundaries because this page is GORGEOUS! Wow, I love it a lot!

I'm normally a one photo girl and then I slap some pp paper and paper pierce the borders. So I went for a more graphic, modern look... I think... Haha. :) Thanks for stopping by my blog-o already Kelly. Totally appreciated the love. :)

I did a whole host of challenges with this layout, which you can read about here: http://www.studiocalico.com/forums/galleries/show/38967 Thanks for the fun challenge. I'm 'challenging' myself to try to do at least on of the blog challenges each week. It's lots of fun!

Fun challenge! Participating or just useing the inspiration fot my own albums are always a good way for me to get out of a rut. I had fun making a 'messy' page with ONE picture...two things i hardly ever do. Thanks for the inspiration!

Okay so I am stepping outside of my box on many different levels! 1) This is the first SC challenge I have entered after being a subscriber since yearbook! 2) This is the 5th layout I have made using the same kit (NAPA VALLEY) I have only ever done 2 at the most! 3) I am a clean lines kinda gal also (which is what attracted me to doing the challenge in the first place, heck if Kelly can do it so can I) so the tilted photo is a leap for me (even if only slightly) LOL 4) I am a slow scrapper and have to "think" and "plan" everything this one I threw together in less then 45 mins! That is huge for me. :)
Thanks for the challenge Kelly!

Thanks for the challenge Kelly! Your layout is so gorgeous. I rarely scrap 2pagers because they scare me (ha!), but I gave it a try here: http://www.studiocalico.com/forums/galleries/show/39123
