Just recently I loaded all of the photos from my phone onto the computer. They span many many months and none of them are perfect or wonderful quality but they are all special to me. As I was going through them I felt extremely grateful to have a camera on my phone and so happy that I had taken all of those random photos.
What really stuck out to me was how many little everyday moments were captured and caught on film that otherwise would have been lost and forgotten in the shuffle of our busy lives.
As I was looking through all of them I also realized that most of the pictures were taken of things that I normally wouldn't consider "scrapbook worthy". Most of the "events" only have one photo to document the moement/day/activity. But again I was feeling so grateful that all of these things were in fact documented. I do this a lot with my nice camera too - I will snap little everyday random moments but then when it comes time to printing them out and scrapbooking them, they often get overlooked because they don't seem as special or "scrapbook worthy". It is often easier and maybe more appealing to scrapbook the big things - like Christmas, birthday parties, 1st day of school, etc.
In looking at all of these photos it was a great reminder that the little things are definitely "scrapbook worthy"! In fact anything that means something to us or helps to tell our family story is definitely worth including in our albums! Even if you have just one photo of something or there isn't a lot of journaling to include, the simple little photo and a caption or two, can spark your memory and help you remember the feelings you had at that moment and why it was meaningful.

This week my challenge for you is to scrapbook some of those random photos you have taken. They don't have to be of big events or even great photos.... It is all about documenting some of the simple little moments that make up our everyday lives! You can even include photos from different days/moments on the same page like I did.... Three different photos on three different days, capturing a little bit of Emily doing normal everyday things. All of these are small moments - nothing major or life changing but they all tell a story about who she is right now! And I love that it captures a bit of her sweet little personality!
The deadline for this challenge will be Monday, January 17th so leave a comment on this post by then for your chance to win a $5 SC gift code.
I love random photos! I think they are great to file away and then review to see common links later (I suppose that is my semi-incorporation of Stacy Julian's Library of Memories system). Sometimes I'll just do a page of random photos. They also might be good for a mini-book. Great topic!

Great challenge! I love to scrapbook random moments just as much, if not more, than those life changing ones.

I think my daughter took this photo with her phone one day when we were waiting a long time for our food at a restaurant. I combined with the Sunday sketch to do the page:

What a fun challenge! This is a picture that my daughter took of herself, using my very old polaroid camera, one day a couple of months ago. The film was sitting in the camera for quite a while, which is why the image is all washed out, but I love it all the same! :)
