Insider Tips - Getting Over a Creative Block
Good Morning!! Who gets overwhelmed while creating a layout sometimes - I know I do! This morning I am going to share with you a few tricks that help me to get over a creative block.
Use products that inspire you, it is okay to repeat elements that inspire you to create. Have those items within reach at all times. For me inspiration always starts with the photo and then I choose a few embellishments to compliment the photo(s). Here I chose six products to use on this layout.
Use the background image of the stamp for stamp placement on your layout. It makes it easy to see if the image works in a space or not. Stamps are a great way to layer and fill space or to give a layout that final touch. Who is to say that the colors have to match the photo(s) exactly? You make your own rules as you create, that is what makes it fun and stress free! Guess what, I don't clean my stamps, I stamp in various places on a layout until the ink runs out, I love the faded look or mix of colors from a previous project.
A punch will become your go to item for quick stress free layouts. I love to add shapes to my projects to add dimension and pattern. Cut punched shapes in half and add to corners to fill negative space.
Supplies: Alphas - Elementary; Cardstock - Couture Cardstock; Wood Veneer - Studio Calico; Ink - Jenni Bowlin Lemon Drop, StazOn Jet Black; Mist - Mr. Huey Atmosphere; Pattern Paper - Elementary Atmosphere, Harper's Rule, Penmanship; Punch - Fiskars; Stamps - Grid Santa Cruz Add-On,Tweets
I hope you will give some of these tips a try when the next time you are fighting a creative block!
