Hi, it's Maggie here with your Sunday Sketch!
This week's scrapbook sketch is based on a beautiful page from Stephanie Howell:
And here is my take on the sketch:
Supplies: Patterned paper - Conversation Piece, Window Seat, Souvenir, October Add-On Patterned Paper; Stickers - 20% Extra Flashy, Elementary Alphabet Stickers, Home Front Alphabet Stickers, Anthology Alphabet
I loved this page from Stephanie and how the banner went across the page and underneath the main photo so I placed my photo up in the top right corner as well and then added a banner underneath it that extends across the page. I also liked how she used patterned paper behind her photos (something that I don’t do often) but instead of having it cover most of the page I opted to make it a smaller rectangle behind my photo. Then instead of a smaller photo on the bottom right corner I went with a journaling card that I added my embellishments to but it still has the same position as Stephanie’s photo.
Finally I was inspired by her use of the word “love” in her title and it got me thinking along the lines of love.... Which then led to the idea of scrapping about “what I love about this photo” instead of just telling the obvious story of what the kids were doing. I love that it gave my layout a deeper and more meaningful message and a fun spin on the typical pumpkin patch scrapbook page.
Use this week's sketch and upload a layout for a chance to win two $5 SC gift cards. Good luck!
wonderful sketch and awesome page too! ... very sweet of you to take time to explain your process :)
