This week's sketch comes from Marcy Penner's CENTRAL HIGH gallery, and is based on her layout titled: 'Lego Collectors'.
We loved how Marcy used the die cut journaling block at the top, and couldn't wait to see how SC member Tina (adogslife13) would use it!!
Supplies: Paper: Cosmo Cricket; Journaling Tags: Cosmo Cricket; Chipboard: Cosmo Cricket; Stickers: Cosmo Cricket (strip), Prima (alphas), Twine: The Twinery; Distress Stain; Adhesive: Tombow
I love great sketches like this one from Marcy. They are so versatile and can be used in many ways. I love how Marcy 'centered' her photos and layered product behind and around the photos. That is always a great look.
I stayed fairly close to the sketch, but changed it up to match my scrappy style. Because I tend to scrap 'one photo' layouts, I used one photo and filled the 2nd photo space with chipboard embellishments and layered patterned paper. I also love all things arrow (who doesn't, right?), so I used her arrow idea and added a chipboard arrow to my photo to draw interest to a certain spot on the photo. Lastly, instead of adding scrap strips of paper to the top and bottom of my layout, I added chipboard strips, embellished with more chipboard, and moved them closer to the center of the page. (as I wrote this, I realized I am obsessed with chipboard LOL)
The details Tina chose to highlight her photo work perfectly together...and how FUN are those paint splatters?! Great idea to layer the chipboard too! If you'd like to see more of Tina's work, please check out her SC gallery or her blog. Thanks for sharing your work with us, Tina!!
Now it's YOUR turn to show us how you'll use the sketch. Whether it's a
layout , a card or something else, link us
up to your project by September 24th for a chance to win a $5 gift
card to the Studio Calico shop.

I love this sketch and was immediately inspired.
