This week, we asked Studio Calico member Christa Paustenbaugh to share her take on the sketch :
I was honored to even be asked to participate in the Sunday Sketch this week and even more excited when I saw Nicole's Flower Girl layout that the sketch was based on. I don't often make layouts with enlarged photos, but I'm always drawn to them when I see them in galleries and on blogs. I stayed fairly close to the sketch and just switched up a few minor things. I enlarged the main photo and added 3 more photos above that to highlight my fun night with friends. My Silhouette is still on a boat in the middle of the Pacific so I worked around it and printed and cut out large letters as a base for the title and it worked much better than I thought it would! Instead of stitching near the title, I used paper, vellum and washi tape instead. And like a good Real Housewife, I swapped out buttons for jewels and bling!
I love that Christa swapped out Nicole's large photo and subbed in three smaller ones. This is a great tip that can be applied to change up the number of photos on any sketch!
Now it's YOUR turn to show us how you'll use the sketch. Whether it's a layout (two pages or one!), a card or something else, link us up to your project by July 30th for a chance to win a $5 gift card to the Studio Calico shop.
