Happy Scrapbooking Day everyone!
Today, I'd love to challenge you to be inspired with Studio Calico Wood Veneer!
I LOVE Wood and when Studio Calico came out with Wood Veneer, I couldn't be happier :) I was teaching this Studio Calico class in France a couple of months ago and came up with this great technique : create your own "fake" Wood cover for your favorite mini album projects!
I so wanted to use those Heart Wood Veneers in my project and was searching for an idea to perfectly match those.
then...Yes! of course! GESSO!
Add a THICK layer of gesso on your background (preferable thick cardstock or cardboard) and with the tip of your brush, draw wood nervures into the wet gesso. Use a heat gun to make it dry faster (yes, I know, I'm not THAT patient...) or let it dry for at least a night.
Then, use Walnut Ink to paint the gesso background and Ta-DA! :)
Now, I want you to use WOOD (Studio Calico wood veneer or anything you come up with) on a layout, card, mini album! :)
Have fun! Link your page in the comments of this post by Friday May 13th for a chance to win a My Mind's Eye Lush 2 prize package!

Used my very first wood veneer heart out of the package on this one - thanks for the inspiration! http://www.studiocalico.com/forums/galleries/show/42018
